KZLA consulted to the Town of Lexington to plan and design a universally accessible parking area, trail, and pond observation deck at the Cotton Farm Conservation Area, to improve the recreational experience for all visitors. The new approach to the landscape provides greater access to experience the Cotton Farm pond, the hiking trails and apple orchard. New parking is broken into small pods to not be visually intrusive and is paved with pervious paving to manage stormwater sensitively. The pond overlook is designed for casual viewing of the pond and for environmental education for local schools. The trail system has guides for the visually impaired.
